In terms of virtual networks, hypervisors can present physical or virtual network interfaces with three configurations:

Network Bridging: Direct access to physical NICs.
NAT: Virtual access to a simulated NIC.
Host-only Networking: Limited access to a virtual NIC that does not connect to physical NICs.
