One advanced technique is Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), which uses the emission of light from excited atoms to identify and quantify element concentrations. Liquid samples are transformed into a fine mist before being energized by high-temperature plasma, yielding detailed compositional information.

ICP-OES finds widespread use across industries, including environmental analysis for trace metals, metallurgical assessments, geological studies for mineral composition, petrochemical evaluations for refined products, material testing, and pharmaceutical applications to ensure the safety of drugs and cosmetics.
